The S/T 1852 VG is an upgraded version of our prior model of this turbo. Our new and improved turbine increases the exhaust flow by more than 30% above our older version. Still delivering an almost instant spool, this turbo will decrease EGT’s and EMP’s (exhaust manifold pressure) even more than the original S/T 1852V.
Considered our stage III upgrade, this turbo when properly tuned with available fuel can deliver up to 200 HP reliably with virtually no smoke in the VW TDI ALH and PD 1.9 liter 4 cylinder engines. 
The CHRA (Center cartridge) is assembled from all brand new parts that either meets or exceeds the original manufactures specifications, including the cartridge itself. This is then balanced on a state of the art VSR balancing machine and comes with a copy of the computerized balancing results.
Equipped with our custom turbine modifications, we “Blue-print” the compressor housing to each turbo and increase the available air intake by over 70% of the factory original turbo. The compressor wheel has an exducer size of 52mm for overall improved performance designed to move mass air volume, thus creating better overall horse power at LESS boost pressure than any other hybrid in its class.
Mounted on the ALH, this turbo will function with all factory emissions in place. Some modifications are required to install factory emissions on the PD- BEW. This turbo reacts very similar to the factory original Garrett GT-1749V, with virtually no increased "turbo-lag". We offer this turbo in a PD version as well that comes with the factory “C” clip attachment and requires no modifications to the charge air system. We install the correct actuator for the North American BEW equipped with the electronic vane positioning sensor at no extra charge. This turbo will require the use of our custom STI (Turbo inlet Pipe) and will be included fully chromed with this turbo at no extra charge. All gaskets and new mounting hardware will be included with the purchase as well.

Le turbo S/T 1852V communément surnommé le « Hammerhead SV » est une préparation très populaire pour les moteurs 1,9L TDI ALH de 1998 à 2003 ainsi que pour les moteurs BEW PD de 2004. Nous le considérons comme notre préparation « stage 3 » capable de délivrer plus de 200 chevaux si associé à des nez d’injecteurs de qualités ainsi que reprogrammation sur mesure. Il est équipé de nos axes et turbine d’échappement VNT18 pour meilleur débit des gaz d’échappement tout en diminuant la pression interne du collecteur d’échappement (EMP) ainsi que la température des gaz (EGT). La roue compresseur possède un diamètre d’entrée supérieur à 38mm et un diamètre de sortie de 52mm pour une meilleure performance globale visant à déplacer un gros volume de masse d’air, créant ainsi une meilleure puissance globale aux faibles pressions de suralimentation. Monté sur un ALH, ce turbo fonctionnera avec tout le contrôle des émissions d’origines en place. Ce turbo réagit quasi similairement au turbo d’origine GT1749V avec pratiquement aucune augmentation du lag du turbo. Ce turbo est réservé exclusivement pour un usage hors-route.
